Assisted dying to become law in the Isle of Man

Assisted dying now set to become law in the Isle of Man by 2027.

The assisted dying bill has now passed its final reading in the jurisdiction which has autonomous laws to England and Wales and the other independent legal regions in the UK.

Jersey and Guernsey and Scotland are each independently debating the issue but England and Wales are unlikely to move forward with anything before 2029.

Up to 16 people each year of the isle of Man’s population are expected to opt for assisted dying.
